Why do I need an alarm system in a panic room?
An alarm system issues an alarm message when certain events occur. For example, if a window is smashed and a glass breakage detector detects this, the occupants can be warned. An alarm system in a panic room is therefore useful because it can inform you of an imminent danger. Of course, the actual alarm system is not installed in the panic room, but prompts people to retreat to the panic room.
What do I need to look out for with an alarm system in panic room?
If I want to use the alarm system effectively, I need enough warning time to go to the panic room. The glass break detector on the window is helpful, but in an emergency it may be too late. Other people may have to enter the panic room and if they are children, they will have to be ‘collected’.
It therefore makes sense to think about a perimeter security system, i.e. detection outside the window. The earlier an event is detected, the more time there is for the residents and the police. Automatic detectors, including motion detectors, should therefore be part of every alarm system.
What an alarm system can do.
In addition to the detection of an alarm by the detectors, the alarm system can of course trigger an alarm and be connected to an alarm centre. This control centre may already be able to check which event has occurred. It is also possible to connect to local cameras and inform the police.
Where can I get an alarm system?
In any case, you should speak to a local security company. The installation of an alarm system belongs in professional hands. In a personal consultation, you can clarify your individual requirements and purchase a customised solution. In combination with a panic room, we are also happy to offer you a customised concept from a single source.
